Parental Compass is independently owned and operated. We are not a subsidiary of, nor funded by, any publisher, imprint, media conglomerate, political organization, or religious institution.
How we make money
- Amazon Associates. When you buy a book through one of our links we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
- Display advertising. We show Google-served ads on some pages. Ads are chosen by the ad network, not by our editorial team.
- Newsletter. Free to subscribers. We may occasionally include sponsored recommendations — those will be clearly labelled and never mixed into our editorial ratings.

Editorial firewall
Reviewers and editors have no visibility into per-book affiliate or ad revenue. Advertisers cannot request, block, or preview reviews. If a book is in the top of a collection, it’s because it earned that placement editorially.
AI usage
We use AI tools to draft metadata, cluster books into collections, and speed up publishing operations. AI is never the sole author of a rating or verdict. Every published rating passes through a named human reviewer.

Corrections log
Material corrections are noted at the top of the affected review, with a date. We’ll publish an annual aggregate correction summary on this page once we have a full year of published reviews.
